In my last 10 mile diet post I said I would harvest from a ten mile radius, I think I am going to leave open the possibility of harvesting from a twenty-five mile radius. Keeping in the theme of “free” I can ride my bicycle and walk to enable me to travel further afield in order to harvest. The word afield looks wrong but sounds right so I’ll leave it.
I have begun plotting my own piece of earth, using a free planner I found online here http://gardenplanner.almanac.com/, so when I have it done I will see if I can find a way to get it on here. I’ve decided to go with raised beds and try square-foot gardening since you are supposed to be able to get a very high yield with little garden space.
I did a little more procrastinating the other day and didn’t get my “indoor greenhouse” set up, so that is a project I must complete this weekend. Then I have to get my seeds planted. First I have to measure my available space outside for my raised beds since the planner will tell me how much to plant in each square foot.
Wait, first first before anything else, I need to pick up wine! I’ll keep you updated!
Also, I tried to get this to post on my 10 Mile Diet page, made a menu and all, but don’t know how to get it there. Any suggestions? I am more than willing to learn!
