Why do you blog?
Thanks for the great idea, Paranoid Guy!
When I originally thought of starting a blog it was going to be for the purpose of tracking and writing about our Route 66 trip. I would write about the planning, the preparation and obviously all about the trip itself. However, once I got my blog set up I discovered I had other reasons.
I’ve always known that putting my thoughts and feelings down in the written word helps me to put them in perspective and the beginning of my blog just happened to be a rather tumultuous time for me.
So now I blog to sort things out. It helps me a great deal, to get things out of my head and onto the blank page means freeing up space in my mind.
The flotsam and detritus taking up space in my psyche, threatening to take me down to the cold dark depths of despair is somehow exorcised when put on the page, becoming words that no longer have a hold on me, no longer have the power to bring me pain, no longer run rampant through my mind.
I blog to heal, I blog to share, and most of all I blog in hope that someone else can read my pain, and see their own need not be secret.
